The sky was smiling on Watford this week.
Ruby Hartley, 15, spotted this beautiful Circumzenithal arc while enjoying the sun in her garden in North Watford.
She photographed the unusual sight, which resembles an upside down rainbow and is sometimes referred to as a ‘smile in the sky’.
The optical phenomenon is caused by the refraction of sunlight through ice crystals rather than raindrops.
