A student from a Garston school has won a cooking competition in aid of British Food Fortnight.
Students from the Francis Combe Academy were invited to take part in You're The Chef competition last week.
The competition, which was organised by Cucuna Restaurants in conjunction with Love British Food, was open to the whole school.
It involved designing a new recipe using only British ingredients.
The winner year eight student Peter Bishop, who created a roast beef bites with Yorkshire pudding and vegetables.
Peter will have his dish cooked for the entire school and will also get to eat free in the school restaurant throughout British Food Fortnight, which runs from September 22 to October 2.
The school’s head chef, Aaron Oliphant, said: "It really has been fantastic to get the kids involved in British food in this way. A lot of our work is about
teaching kids about the great food of this country.
"School caterers must be true educators, not just cooks and that is one of the reasons why we have full restaurants in schools, not just canteens.
"Peter’s dish showed amazing understanding of cooking and it was brilliantly presented. Full congratulations to him for this achievement."
