The daughter of a former Watford Synagogue rabbi has been appointed its new youth director.
Devorah Roselaar, who was born when her father was rabbi at the synagogue, is returning to her Watford roots to take up the role following the departure of former youth leader Scott Michaels for university.
Miss Roselaar, who is studying for a degree in primary school education at Middlesex University, already has experience in youth work having been involved in running summer camps and community fun days.
She said she was attracted to the role by the synagogue’s “warm community”.
She said: "I'm looking forward to developing engaging and social activities for youth of all ages within Watford’s Jewish community, starting with a Chanukah party and monthly club nights."
