A local school's under-16 team won the Hertfordshire round of the English Schools Athletics Track and Field Cup.
With a massive score of 469 points, Haberdashers' Aske's Boys School dominated last Wednesday's meeting at the U16 age group.
Two pupils managed to break school records. Scott Spurling recorded a new record in the Hammer with a throw of 30.27m and Kaz Ong, the team captain, in an outstanding race won the 80 metre hurdles in a new record time of 11.1sec.
The team also top the Herts League table and can now look forward to the next round (East of England) of the ESAA Cup and hope to qualify for the national finals in July.
