More than £2,000 was stolen in an armed robbery in Maple Cross.
The robbery happened at McColl’s store in Chalfont Lane before 7am on Friday.
The offenders broke in through the front door, threatened the owners with a baseball bat, and stole cash.
Both men are described as being white and aged between 25 and 40.
Both were wearing a dark coloured tracksuit with the hood up, trainers, gloves and a scarf over the lower part of their faces.
One was carrying a black rucksack.
Detective Sergeant Dan Stoddart, from Hertfordshire Constabulary, said: “Understandably, this was a frightening ordeal for the member of staff involved.
"Thankfully he was not hurt during the incident.”
