Pubgoers will soon learn how many pounds they are piling on while they are sinking pints.
Wetherspoon has confirmed it is to become the first pub chain in the country to tell punters how many calories their drinks contain.
The budget boozer already tells customers how how many calories are in the meals but customers will now know just how much they are consuming when boozing too.
Health bosses have long warned that alcohol is a significant factor behind rising levels of obesity and medical studies have shown alcohol is often followed by overeating.
The chain has two pubs in Watford town centre.
Drinkers may not take kindly to learning that a pint of lager is around 230 calories, a beer around 200 and a glass of red wine around a similar amount.
