A woman has been arrested in connection with the running of a brothel.
The 38-year-old from Kings Langley was arrested on April 5, along with two men and a woman from Hemel Hempstead, after a series of search warrants were carried out in the area.
Reports of suspicious activity at an address in Evans Wharf, Apsley Lock, were received, prompting police action.
Four other properties were visited by police as part of the investigation.
The woman from Kings Langley was arrested on suspicion of controlling prostitution; causing, inciting and controlling prostitution; keeping, managing, acting or assisting in the management of a brothel; and converting criminal property.
A 40-year-old man was also arrested on suspicion of keeping, managing, acting or assisting in the management of a brothel; fraud by false representation; fraud by abuse of position; and converting or concealing criminal property.
A 37-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of keeping, managing, acting or assisting in the management of a brothel, and converting or concealing criminal property.
A 35-year-old woman was arrested on proceeds of crime offences.
All four have been released pending further enquiries.
