A celebrity chef’s wife has opened a health club to help people lead a healthy lifestyle after losing four stone.

Jessie D’Acampo, wife of TV personality Gino D’Acampo has opened The Gym & Tonic Club, Battlers Green Farm to get people to feel body confident.

The centre opened earlier this year and started holding excercise classes at the beginning of May.

The programme offers clients a diet planned by a nutritionist, an appointment with a physiotherapist, as well as daily HIIT routines from a personal trainer.

The mother-of-three said: “I have gone up and down like a yo-yo in past having tried all different sorts of plans like Lighter Life or the Cambridge Diet.

“I can lose four stone but I can’t keep it off and it makes me feel so uncomfortable. Last year I didn’t go to the National Television Awards as there’s a lot of pressure on celebrity wives to look good.

“I still don’t see myself as a size 12 when I go shopping, I keep picking up things that are size 16 and I still forget that I’ve lost the weight.”

The club in Radlett was started by the 39-year-old and friend of 12 years Yemi Erinle who lost two stone on the same programme.

In addition to this becoming a member also offers you behavioural coaching to steer you away from bad habits and cellulite reduction, stretchmark obliteration and skin tightening treatments.

The price for all of this comes in at £250 a month.

Jessie said: “A lot of people get spooked by the price, but really it comes down to £9 per session.

“Usually if you go to a gym there is one trainer to however many customers in a class, but with this programme, you have four or five trainers helping each client.

“What I would tell anyone trying to lose weight or become healthier is not to give up, because the sense of satisfaction you get when you achieve your goal is amazing.”

Some of Gino’s cookbooks will be sold at the club, with the proceeds going to charity.

“I would definitely not follow my husband into the spotlight, he can be the diva of the family!

“He has threatened me taking a class, but I’ve told him he can’t as I will lose all my clients.”
