Some of the country’s most accomplished teenage musicians will be displaying their talents at a lunchtime recital in Rickmansworth on Wednesday, February 7.

The concert will be given by four pupils from the Purcell School, Bushey, Britain’s oldest specialist school for talented young musicians.

The pupils who will be performing at the Three Rivers Music Society concert are Ellen Wilkinson (oboe), Chris Price (tuba), Francesca Lauri (piano) and Eugenie Dalgleish (violin).

Next week’s concert – the second in a series of Rickmansworth recitals to be given by the school – will include two masterworks of the classical music repertoire, Albinoni’s Oboe Concerto in D minor and Chopin’s Fantaisie in F minor, op. 49.

The Purcell School has produced three recent BBC Young Musician of the Year winners: Lara Melda (2010), Martin James Bartlett (2014) and Alexandra Ridout (Jazz Award 2016).

The February 7 concert will be held at the Baptist Church, High Street, Rickmansworth WD3 1EH. It will begin at 1pm. Tickets available at the door. All concerts organised by Three Rivers Music Society are free to those aged under 25.

The Three Rivers Music Society (popularly known as TRMS), a registered charity, established in 1975, has its principal aim to promote music in all its aspects by organising concerts and recitals not only by established, talented performers but also aspiring youngsters. TRMS organises an annual programme of around six evening and four lunchtime chamber concerts at local venues.
