Thieves were scared off by a car owner after they tried to use a computer to steal his car.
The duo were attempting to hijack the signal of a keyless car lock in Northwood using a laptop and frequency jamming equipment.
But the owner of the car was at home at the time and when he knocked on the window, they ran away.
The incident happened on April 9 at 11.20pm.
Police have now issued CCTV footage of a person police would like to speak to help with their enquiries.
Anyone who recognises him or has any other information is asked to contact PC Graeme Edwards on the non-emergency number 101, quoting crime reference C3/18/549. You can also report information online at https://www.herts.police.uk/Report
