A music festival in front of thousands of fans? Perhaps a gig at one of the hottest nightclubs? Or maybe at a red carpet event.

That's where you would expect one of the biggest music artists in the world to promote of their new songs.

But for Jason Derulo, he decided that Asda in Watford was just the place for him.

The Talk Dirty and Wiggle artist entertained crowds at the supermarket on Bank Holiday Monday where he promoted his new football-themed track, Colors, in partnership with Coca Cola.

Derulo, who has sold more than 30 million singles, posed for pictures and signed autographs at Asda at around midday.

According to shoppers, Asda announced over its PA system that the American artist would be at the store on Monday.

Derulo, who first shot to fame in 2009 with his debut single Whatcha Say, was off the back of performing at Radio 1's Biggest Weekend in Swansea.

His visit was part of a collaboration between Asda and Coca Cola for a project called Pass the Happiness.

The plan is to donate 15,000 'One World' Play Project footballs.

Some people could not hide their shock and amazement when they heard Derulo would be at Asda.

Amy Decker said that she heard the announcement in the store on Saturday and went back on Monday for a chance to meet him. She was unable to talk to him but managed to grab a photo of him in the store.

One person tweeted: "Jason Derulo is doing a meet and greet this week in my local ASDA, I am lost for words....." while another said "Just saw on my friends Snapchat that Jason Derulo was doing a signing at ASDA...in Watford...Is that normal?"

The music star is likely to perform his new single at the opening or closing ceremony in Russia this summer.

Co-founder at One World Play Project Lisa Tarver said: "At One World Play Project, we believe all children should have access to play - no matter who they are, where they come from or where they live.

β€œWe’re honored that Coca-Cola and Walmart are partnering with us to give back to the communities where they work, live and play. By inspiring community giving worldwide and providing play to youth and communities who need it most, together we will impact millions of lives and help communities thrive.”
