A flag commemorating British service men and women has been flying all week in the town.
On June 18, Cllr Rabi Martins, raised the Union Jack flag outside Watford Town Hall to mark Armed Forces Day on June 30.
The red, white and blue was raised, and will fly the week long, to show support for the British Armed Forces, from currently serving troops to Service families, veterans and cadets.
The annual event was first observed in 2006.
Chairman of Watford Borough Council, Cllr Rabi Martins, said: “On behalf of the good people of Watford I would like to take this opportunity to thank every person who puts country before self and volunteers to serve as a member of our armed forces.
“We also pay our respects to all those who have died during conflict, including Watford’s own Corporal Christopher Harrison and Captain Tom Sawyer. We are all indebted to you for your service in the line of duty, and for the sacrifice you have made.”
