Police have not caught the driver of a car which was filmed ramming vehicles out of the way in a supermarket car park – but they have found the car.

Hertfordshire Constabulary has confirmed this morning (Thursday) that no arrests have been made following the incident at Tesco in Rickmansworth on Sunday at around 2pm.

They are still working to trace the occupants.

A video went viral on social media on Monday of a hired blue Citroen C3 attempting to flee the car park, while shoppers strike the car and smash the windows, and try and force the driver out.

Watford Observer:

A woman, believed to be a Tesco employee, sustained a serious injury.

However she is out of hospital recovering.

A colleague says she has sustained a broken back and a Go Fund Me page has been set up to support her. More than £1,000 has been raised so far.

Police have confirmed that the battered Citroen was found in Watford, and enquiries are ongoing.

The video, which was uploaded to Facebook, and viewed millions of times, showed the Citroen, with the registration plate KW18 HGK, ramming parked cars out of the way while angry shoppers did their best to stop them.

Police say they responded to reports that two people had been challenged by security staff inside the Tesco store after they allegedly tried to steal alcohol.

Two people required hospital treatment after reports “several people” were run over by a car.

The East of England ambulance service confirmed it was called at 2pm and sent three ambulances and an ambulance officer.

The injured woman was taken to Watford General Hospital.
