Armed police and a helicopter searched for a man who called emergency services saying he was going to “seriously harm himself”.
Hertfordshire Constabulary became concerned for the welfare of a man after receiving a distress call from him in Oxhey Woods at around 8.30pm yesterday evening.
Police set up a road block before searching the area.
The man was found on Prestwick Road just after 9.30pm and taken to hospital.
Hertfordshire Constabulary said the level of response was “normal”, adding their priority was to locate the man as quickly as possible and make him safe.
