A man who was arrested on suspicion of arson has been detained under the mental health act.
Police arrested a man after they were called to a fire at a flat in The Broadway, Watford last Monday.
A cordon was put in place and the area was cleared while emergency services attended to make the place safe.
Hertfordshire Constabulary arrested a man at the scene on suspicion of arson and he was taken into custody.
He has since been de-arrested, detained under the mental health act and taken to a secure unit, the force has confirmed.
De-arrested does not mean the same as released without charge. It means that an arrested person is released before being processed at a police station.
