An elderly woman has died in hospital after she was involved in a collision with a van yesterday.
Hertfordshire Constabulary say the woman's condition deteriorated after she was initially taken to hospital with serious injuries.
She was aged in her 80s.
Emergency services were called to Regent Street, Watford, at 12.45pm on Monday.
A closure was in place in Leavesden Road
The collision involved a small Fiat van which was taken away by a recovery vehicle at around 6pm.
The van driver is co-operating with police.
The woman's family are aware and are being supported by specialist officers.
Police were carrying out investigation work in Regent Street and Leavesden Road throughout yesterday with a full road closure in place in Leavesden Road between St Albans Road and Cecil Street. The road reopened at 6.20pm.
Police continue to appeal for witnesses. Anyone who has not spoken to police bus has information on what happened is asked to call 101 quoting reference number ISR 359 of March 25.
