The Elected Mayor of Watford has “signed off” on a housing development as part of a topping out ceremony.
Peter Taylor joined representatives from Watford Community Housing to celebrate The Brow regeneration project in Woodside reaching new heights by signing his name on the building.
The Brow development will include eight new retail shops and 38 new homes.
The housing association said the Mulalley properties will be a mix of affordable rent, shared ownership and three large family homes for social rent.
As part of the ceremony Tina Barnard, chief executive of Watford Community Housing, Mayor Taylor and Woodside Councillor Stephen Cavinder signed the final piece of roof coping before watching a crane lift it to the top of the new development.

Mayor Taylor said: “It was great to join residents, councillors and Watford Community Housing for this topping out ceremony.
“It’s good to see how much progress is being made to deliver much-needed social and affordable housing for people who really need it most, as well as improved local shopping facilities. I can’t wait to see the finished project.”
Group director of partnerships for Watford Community Housing Gareth Lewis added: “We are really pleased to have reached such a significant milestone in this development.
“We are optimistic the regeneration of The Brow will finish ahead of schedule.”
Cllr Cavinder said he was “delighted” more affordable housing would be brought to the area.
