Paul Kemsley says his resignation as Tottenham vice-chairman had nothing to do with his involvement in Spurs' links with Juande Ramos.
After Tottenham's poor start to the season, Kemsley met Sevilla coach Ramos - along with other representatives from White Hart Lane - to discuss a possible move to Spurs.
The reports severely undermined the position of manager Martin Jol who has been backed to the hilt by the club's fans.
However Kemsley said: "I had outgrown the position. With all the time I was spending at Spurs, I was running out of time with my kids."
