A new remembrance garden was vandalised after flowers were ripped out and left on the side of a path.
The plants were stripped from the new plant bed in Leavesden Country Park and were found on Sunday morning (July 7).
The vandalism occurred after the celebration of the open day on July 6 (Saturday) and led to anger from the community.
The garden is to honour and remember the lives of people who lived and worked at Leavesden Hospitals and Asylum.
Chris Whately-Smith called on a team of around twenty people to pull together to re-plant the flowers at 9.30am on Sunday.
Mr Whately-Smith said: “It is very annoying when new things come in and this sort of thing often happens but I’m delighted the community pulled together.”
