One of my main highlights as Watford’s MP is hosting local school groups in Parliament for a tour and lively Q&A session every Monday. I’m always so impressed by how passionate young people in our community are about the causes they believe in, and none more so than about climate change! As a proud member of the Climate Change All Party Parliamentary Grouo, I know just how important this is and am keen to encourage pupils to be as active as they can.

This is why, looking ahead to next term, I’m delighted to be hosting a Climate Change Conference in Parliament to celebrate UK Parliament Week in November. I’ve invited all local primary schools to select pupils to be Climate Change Ambassadors for the day in Parliament where we can discuss the challenges we face and solutions for the future.

We all have to work together to tackle the crisis our planet faces and there’s clearly no one solution. This is why I want to invite local schools to work collectively as one big team to talk about ways we can all work together to safeguard the planet. Each school group will present on a different way that we can help to tackle climate change, and together, we’ll work on a manifesto to present to ministers.

With such great young minds in Watford and so much passion for the environment, it’s certain to be a great event!
