I would like to remind residents that fireworks should not be set off between 11pm and 7am - except for Guy Fawkes (Bonfire) Night when the cut-off is extended to midnight and New Years Eve, Diwali (October 27) and the Chinese New Year (January 25), when the cut off is extended to 1am. Letting off fireworks outside these permitted times is not only illegal (for which there is a fine of up to £5,000) but it is disrespectful of neighbours and their pets over a wide area - especially in the middle of the night.
