MATURE musicians from south west Hertfordshire are in demand for a new community project launched by The Experience Corps.

The group is an independent, non-profit-making company, funded by a grant from the Home Office.

It was set up to encourage people over 50 to offer their skills and experience to benefit others.

Music Works is a national project and The Experience Corps wants to reach out to the thousands of music groups across the country with members in the 50 plus age range.

Working in partnership with The Voluntary Arts Network, The International British Federation of Festivals and Making Music the group aims to celebrate the achievements of these groups and make sure they are receiving the recognition they deserve.

By taking part in Music Works, musicians can combine their love of music with helping others in their communities.

Music groups will be put in touch with local performance opportunities in a variety of organisations.

And groups will be invited to take part in concerts and festivals in conjunction with the British International Federation of Festivals.
