Fire crews tackle large fire in Watford - recap

    Shocking footage caught the moment flames began engulfing back gardens and a house in North Watford this afternoon.

  • Around four homes were evacuated after gardens and bushes caught fire behind Bradshaw Road, Watford

  • Sixty firefighters battled the blaze which began in a railway embankment, which runs behind Bradshaw Road, at around 2.30pm

  • Several fire engines have been at the scene in north Watford alongside the incident response unit, police and paramedics.

  • Hertfordshire Fire & Rescue says as many as 12 properties were affected.

  • We understand there are no casualties. People are being urged to avoid the area.

  • Herts Fire and Rescue says the incident has now been "scaled down".
