Three Rivers District Council has appointed its new chairman who will oversee civic duties and chair meetings.
Liberal Democrat councillor Keith Martin was sworn into the role during a virtual annual council meeting held on June 9, nearly three years after he was first elected to the council.
Cllr Martin, who represents Oxhey Hall & Hayling ward, replaces Conservative councillor Paula Hiscocks, who has held the role for the last year.
Cllr Martin is a father-of-two who has lived in the Three Rivers area for nearly 60 years.
He will now represent the council at a range of events and preside over full council meetings.
His consort will be his wife, Liz.
Cllr Martin said: "I am honoured to have been elected as chairman of Three Rivers District Council. I am looking forward to making a positive difference by representing our communities and raising the profile of Three Rivers District."
The council has a new deputy chairman too, with Chorleywood South & Maple Cross Liberal Democrat councillor Martin Trevett appointed.
He has been at the council since 1986 and lived in Chorleywood since 1972.
His wife of 39 years, Nicola, will be his consort.
