Watford began the 1960s by winning promotion to Division Three and they ended it as title winners playing at the highest level in the club's history.
With thanks to the Watford Treasury for their continued help, today we complete our look back at some of the archive pictures from that decade by featuring the image at the top of this page of the players celebrating after they had scaled new heights.
Ken Furphy's side were to end the 1960s playing Division Two football for the first time in the club's history after the 1968/69 campaign had seen them promoting as champions, pipping Swindon Town to the Division Three title.

Watford were to find it tough going in the second tier of English football, but they were able to retain their place until 1972.
