Watford may be in a new lockdown along with the rest of the country - but some places do remain open as usual.

With help from intu and Watford BID, we've compiled an extensive list of shops that have stayed open, or at least partially open, in the town centre and at the town's retail parks.

Under the new laws, essential shops can continue to trade but many places like clothing stores have had to shut up shop for four weeks.

Restaurants can only continue to serve customers but only through delivery or takeaway.

Shoppers are not actively being encouraged to come into the town centre but it is open for business, particularly for town centre residents.

People are also being encouraged to shop local where they can, especially online.

For anyone heading into town, only Charter and Palace car parks at intu Watford are open and parking charges do apply. Kings and Queens car parks are closed.

Elsewhere in the town, big name chains like Halfords, The Range, B&Q, and Pets at Home remain open, along with all the supermarkets like Tesco, Asda, Aldi, Lidl, and Morrisons.

intu Watford says it will be keeping shoppers updated on its stores via its social media channels.

Shoppers are reminded they must wear a face covering inside shops and the intu shopping centre, unless exempt for medical reasons.

Fines are now being issued for people who refuse to comply with the coronavirus regulations.
