Most of us will enjoy curling up on the sofa and watching a good Christmas film over the festive period - and there is certainly plenty of options to choose from.

Among some of the most popular choices would be The Holiday, a 2006 romance featuring Cameron Diaz, Jude Law, Kate Winslet and Jack Black.

The film features Rosehill Cottage – the cute and quirky home of Iris Simpkins (played by Kate Winslet) that Amanda Woods (Cameron Diaz) comes to stay in.

This much-loved cottage does not actually exist in real life, which raises the question as to whether are any local cottages that could have appeared in the movie.

According to Rightmove, one 17th century cottage in Rickmansworth may have just fit the bill.

Located in the small hamlet of Chandlers Cross, the cottage is said to have been built around 1680.

It has still got many of the original components of a 17th century cottage, including all the brickwork and exposed oak beams.

The dining room even has a bread oven, with a rugged look of the wooden ceiling and beams in the wall.

The cottage is currently going for £800,000.
