Svereral families have been celebrating the arrival of the best gift possible after their babies were born on Christmas Day.

Maternity staff were busy at Watford General Hospital on December 25 as they delivered eight Christmas babies.

The first Christmas baby, Alyssa Mia Howell Bailey, was born at 2.54am to Chris and Julia Bailey from Hemel Hempstead weighing 2.7kg.

Alyssa was followed by the arrival of baby Shorto who was delivered at 6am, baby Jenson Jax Baker at 9.19am and Bobby Peter Ambridge who was delivered at 2pm.

Jenson weighed 7lb 7oz and his parents are Sean Baker and Tiffany Dunn from South Oxhey, while Ross Shorto and Kirsty Milnes from Watford had yet to decide on name for their child who also weighed 7lb 7oz.

Bobby Peter Ambridge weighed 8lb when he was born and his parents are Pete and Lauren Ambridge from Apsley.

Justine Chung, the delivery suite’s Matron, said: “Christmas was made extra special by the arrival of eight wonderful babies to Watford General Hospital’s delivery suite.

“I would like to thank all the fantastic staff who worked over Christmas Day and the festive period – not just the staff in the delivery suite but also in the wider trust – who continue to provide a high standard of care for all our women and babies.

“Congratulations to all the families who have had an extra special Christmas this year with the arrival of their babies.”
