I have read a report in last week’s Watford Observer regarding council tax bills, which are set to rise under the county council proposal by 1.99 per cent, with a further two per cent levy that will be ringfenced for adult social care. So, I reckon it is long overdue that our Prime Minster should jog his memory and stop dilly-dallying and remember his promise that he made to social care after his party won the 2019 general election.

On the steps of Number 10 on December 13, 2019, Boris Johnson announced the most important thing that he and his new government had to deal with first was adult social care in the community. Action speaks louder than words and words do not mean anything unless they contain something that is meaningful and of solid substance.

My message to the PM is, time is now of the essence Prime Minister, and you have had enough time at finding a solution as to why adult social care needs attending to before it is too late.

County councils should not be put in the position of trying to dig adult social care out of holes, whilst our Prime Minister and his government dawdle and waste valuable time and keep passing the buck onto county councils regarding adult social care funding.
