An application has been submitted to demolish former offices and replace it with a new building of 25 flats.
The proposal involves the demolition of Jessa House in Lower High Street, Watford, with a five-storey building created in its place.
The new building would be a mixture of mainly one and two-bedroom flats, with four three-bed flats.
A planning statement for this application published on Watford Borough Council’s planning portal states the scale and extent of the proposed building would be such that it would make "efficient use" of land whilst "not representing overdevelopment of the site".
There is no affordable housing proposed within the scheme, however a financial contribution will be paid to the council which will help fund affordable housing elsewhere in the borough.
The planning statement suggests pre-planning application advice received from council officers to the applicants was the need for more affordable housing in Watford is predominantly in the form of larger units with three or more bedrooms.
A total of four car parking spaces and 37 cycling spaces would be provided.
