A man was arrested on suspicion of drug driving following a crash between a car and a motorbike.

Police were called to reports of a serious collision in Sheepcot Lane on the outskirts of Watford on Wednesday evening.

The crash involved a silver BMW 318CI and a black Lexmoto motorcycle and it happened at around 9pm near a petrol station, close to the A405 dual carriageway.

The biker suffered injuries and he was taken to hospital but police say his injuries are not thought to be life changing or life threatening.

The crash scene was sealed off for a number of hours and a collision investigator attended the incident.

Police confirmed a 43-year-old man from Watford was arrested on suspicion of driving while unfit through drugs. He has been released under investigation while enquiries continue.
