There was no winter wonderland for residents to wake up to this morning but Watford is still in line for some wintry weather throughout the rest of the day.

Storm Darcy promised another wave of heavy snow for eastern England, but unlike a fortnight ago when Hertfordshire did see lots of the white stuff, the heaviest bursts this time round have stayed closer to the coast and in more northern areas of the country.

Some parts of Watford have seen a dusting of snow today with a bit more settling in rural areas around the town, but anyone hoping for a repeat of two weeks ago is likely to be left disappointed.

However, a yellow weather warning remains in place for the town for the rest of today (Monday), tomorrow, and Wednesday.

A message on the Met Office’s website for the yellow warning for snow, which stretches across much of England, states: "Frequent snow showers may lead to travel disruption in places. Some places are likely to miss the showers altogether."

The Met Office is currently forecasting on-and-off light snow in Watford for the rest of the afternoon but it will peter out into the early evening.

Tomorrow’s forecast by the Met Office is currently showing the chance of a snow shower or flurry in the middle of the day, otherwise it’ll be cloudy.

Even if it is not snowing, it is bitterly cold outside, with temperatures barely reaching above freezing until the weekend.

But it will actually feel like minus 6 or 7 degrees due to an easterly wind.

The notably cold snap is set to end by the end of the weekend, with temperatures returning to around 6 degrees Celsius.
