Parts of Rickmansworth Aquadrome still remain fenced off after being temporarily shut in response to recent flooding incidents.
The Aquadrome was shut between February 1 and last Friday (February 5) due to safety concerns from people ignoring measures in place to fence off flooded areas.
Three Rivers District Council initially fenced off some areas after flooding incidents between January 30 and 31, and “prompt action” was then taken when people began to ignore the fencing.
And while the Aquadrome reopened last Friday (February 5), some areas of the park are still closed off nearly two weeks after with clear signage.
Ebury play area remains closed until further notice, as water is still in the area, and other parts remain fenced off as water levels remain high.
A spokesperson from the district council explained that the Aquadrome's conditions are being reviewed on a daily basis.
Talking about the decision to temporarily shut the park, district council leader Cllr Sarah Nelmes previously said: “This leaves us with no option than to close the park in order to ensure the safety of the public which, of course, is always our absolute priority.
“I know this will be disappointing to many people who rely on the park for exercise, but our teams are working hard to alleviate the flooding.”
