A police officer has been working hard throughout the coronavirus lockdowns to promote body confidence.

Det Const Nicola Floss, who beat over 30 delegates to win the Miss Voluptuous England title in February's virtual competition, has been encouraging people to feel confident in their own skin.

And in a bid to push this message, Nicola says she is “pushing boundaries, smashing through stereotypes and challenging limits within the beauty world”.

The 31-year-old from Hertfordshire has held events such as Confidence in Lockdown, where interviews were conducted and later published within later regional and national lockdowns.

She has received support from people such as Trevor Dion Nicholas, who has taken part in these himself.

She intends for her message - “every person has the right to feel confident and comfortable in their own skin” - to travel as far as possible.

Nicola has also carried out several fundraisers to help with people’s mental health during lockdowns, raising over £1,300 for several charities, including Terrence Higgins Trust, Survivors Trust and Mind Hertfordshire Network.

She also created a Kindness Box during the initial lockdown where items which promoted forward positive thinking were able to be sent to loved ones in personalised keepsake boxes with all proceeds going to charity.
