The cost of local authority residents’ parking permits and car parks in Bushey is set to increase from April 1.

A notice from Hertsmere Borough Council in this week’s edition of the Watford Observer outlines the full schedule of charges that are due to take effect from the start of next month.

These apply to on-street permit holder parking places, pay and display and on-street parking charges, off-street car parking areas and permits for business and school parking.

The roads affected are: Greatham Road (Zone T); Grange Road and Vale Road (Zone V); Arthur Street, Ashdon Road, Bendysh Road, Fishers Close, Walton Road and Williams Street (Zone W); Golf Close and Park Close (Zone Y); Cross Road (Zone CR); Kemp Place and Montague Hall Place (Zone KP); High Street, Bushey Heath (in part) and St Peters Close (Zone TA); High Street (Zone VB).

The annual cost of one resident’s permit will rise from £25 to £30 after 00.01 hrs on April 1, £40 to £50 for a second permit, £70 to £80 for a third permit and £100 to £110 for a fourth permit.

The cost of a book of 20 vouchers for visitor parking will double from £5 to £10. An annual visitor’s permit will rise from £40 to £50.

The cost of parking in Greatham Road, near the shopping area, will remain free of charge for first 30 minutes. After that it will increase from 70p to £1 for up to one hour, and £1.70 to £2 for one hour up to the maximum permitted two-hour limit.

There will also be no parking charges for the first 30 minutes in High Street, Bushey Heath. Thereafter it will increase from 50p to £1 up to the maximum one-hour limit.

Charges will also be increasing for the off-street parking car parks at High Road (opposite St Peter’s Church) and High Road (The Rutts) from April 1.

The cost will rise from 90p to £1 for up to one hour; £1.70 to £2 for one to two hours; £2.20 to £3 for two to three hours; £3.20 to £4 for three to four hours; £4.20 to £5 for four to five hours; £5.20 to £6.50 for over five hours.

Parking in Bushey Country Club will remain free of charge for up to two hours, but after April 1 the cost will rise from £2.20 to £3 for two to three hours; £3.20 to £4 for three to four hours; £4.20 to £5 for four to five hours; £5.20 to £6.50 for over four hours.
