Police have today released an appeal to help track down two men after a burglary in Garston.

Officers and a police dog unit attended a home in Coates Way last month (February 11) at around 10.50pm, after reports of a house being broken into.

The rear doors of the home were opened, and the place was searched, but police believe nothing was stolen from the incident.

A police helicopter was deployed to search the area, but officers failed to identify any of the offenders.

Police are looking for two men, both around 5ft and 7inches to 10inches tall. One was said to be wearing a white jacket with a hood up, and the other was wearing a black face mask with a black jacket, and also had the hood up.

DC Julie Vint, who is investigating, said: “Thanks to a vigilant member of the public calling us after witnessing suspicious activity, we were able to get to the scene before they could cause significant damage or steal any property.

“I know that some time has passed since the date of this incident, but we have exhausted all other lines of enquiry and are now asking the public for their help.

“If you live nearby and recall seeing two men behaving suspiciously in the area on Thursday 11 February, particularly between the hours of 10pm and 11pm, or if you believe that you may have witnessed the incident taking place and have not yet spoken to us, please get in touch.

“I would also like to request that anyone who lives in Coates Way that has a CCTV system fitted to their property please review the footage for that evening, in case you may have captured anything that may help to progress this investigation.”

Anyone with information is asked to email DC Vint at Julie.vint@herts.pnn.police.uk or to report information online at herts.police.uk or calling the non-emergency number 101 quoting 41/10428/21.
