A charity supporting West Hertfordshire Hospitals NHS Trust has launched an appeal for donations to help staff and patients.
The charity Raise is drumming up support through its Raise a Rainbow initiative - which will see money spent on spaces for rest, relaxation and respite.
ICU matron, Vicky Houghton, said: “Community donations are invaluable and so important to our charity.
"It enables us to give support where it is most needed and helps our staff and patients during what is an unprecedented time.”
Raise’s charity director, Sofia Sheikh, hailed the Raise a Rainbow campaign, adding: "It will help relieve the pressures the COVID-19 pandemic has had on our patients and dedicated staff.
"We’re immensely grateful for the support we receive from our local community. ”
