Three people are in hospital after they were stabbed in the early hours of this morning.

Police were called to reports of an incident between two groups of males in South Oxhey at around 2.30am (March 27).

Officers found three people with stab wounds and they were taken to hospital. Hertfordshire Constabulary says their injuries are not currently believed to be life-threatening.

Police taped off the area where Oxhey Drive and Muirfield Road meet and police say officers will be in the area today to provide reassurance to residents.

Two men have been arrested in connection with the stabbing and remain in police custody.

Police have said the groups involved are believed to be known to each other.

South Oxhey Labour councillor Steve Cox told the Observer: "I learned about this shocking incident from a resident prior to delivering leaflets this morning.

"Knife crime causes injury and engenders fear in the community.

"I have contacted the police in order to be fully briefed about the events in the early hours of Saturday morning, but the fact arrests have been made is reassuring."
