Firefighters have rescued a deer that trapped itself in railings.

Hertfordshire Fire and Rescue says it was called to Berry Lane, Chorleywood, around 8.52am this morning (April 15).

The fire service said it received reports that a muntjac deer had been stuck in some railings in the area.

Crews from Rickmansworth Fire Station were deployed to the scene and released the deer without any injuries.

Herts Fire Control tweeted earlier this morning: “At 08:52 @A07Fire were mobilised to reports of a monk jack deer stuck in some railings crews arrived and released the deer without any injuries.”
