The sight of people queuing up the road just to get back into Primark after months of lockdown might seem strange to some,
But after months of buying online, actually having the thing in front of you must have been a welcome sight. It means not having to go to the post office to send things back, for a start.
The good news is that all the money we’ve been waiting to spend will start finding its way back into Watford businesses, and into the pay cheques of the people who work in them.
But some have warned of a swell of angry shoppers frustrated by queues and waiting on the one hand or crowds and the lack of social distancing on the other.
So if it all gets too much, if the wait is too long or the shop is just too crowded, the good news is that the weather is warming up and there's another way to support the local economy.
All you have to do is take a deep breath and go to one of Watford’s many excellent cafes, restaurants or bars for an al fresco drink and a bite to eat - maybe even get a takeaway and head to the park.
Remember to enjoy the chance to spend that money. You’ve earned it.
