- The emergency services have been at the scene of a gas leak in a residential neighbourhood.

- A cordon was put in place in several streets in South Oxhey and police warned the public to keep away from the area.

- Oakdale Road was closed and several police vehicles were blocking access into the area.

- Three Rivers Police posted on its Facebook page shortly after 1.30pm: "Police and fire are currently at the scene of a suspected gas leak on Oakdale Road, South Oxhey. There are road closures in place on Oakdale Road and Maylands Road."

- Hertfordshire Fire & Rescue has confirmed it was called at 12.45pm to a fire in a garden, before finding a leaking gas pipe.

- Some residents were evacuated and the gas supply was switched off.

- One fire engine from Watford attended. A gas engineer has been on-site.
