An investigation into the death of a bartender who was killed in a motorway collision is still ongoing a year on from the crash.

Ana Bacanu, 40, died on March 27 last year following a crash on the M25 between junctions 15 and 16, in Buckinghamshire.

At a pre-inquest review hearing on May 27 this year, Beaconsfield Coroners Court heard how during the incident, Ms Bacanu’s vehicle came to a stop in the fast lane of the motorway.

A van then collided with the back of Ms Bacanu’s vehicle. She died from the injuries that she sustained in the crash.

The court heard how Ms Bacanu, who lived in Rickmansworth, worked as a cleaner and bartender before her death.

Following the crash, she was taken to John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford, but medical staff were unable to save her.

Assistant coroner Nick Graham told the court that police are still investigating Ms Bacanu’s death and the driver of the van that was involved in the collision.

Mr Graham added that the police have not asked him to suspend his investigation and notified the court that the full inquest will take place on August 25.

He said: "By that time we should have a clearer picture from the police as to whether they are going to proceed with their investigation."
