A new temporary job centre opened in Watford today.
The site in St Albans Road is giving jobseekers in the town more access to support and new opportunities to find work.
The space at the Eagle 2 building, near Watford Junction, will be home to 48 work coaches, many of whom have joined the Government's Department for Work and Pensions in the last 12 months, following a recruitment drive.
Mims Davies, minister for employment said: "This new temporary Jobcentre is our Plan for Jobs in action and our work coaches are vital in getting the country back on its feet and people back into work.
"They have the inside scoop on the local jobs market, working closely with employers to match vacancies with local jobseekers.
"They can also boost prospects through schemes like Kickstart for young jobseekers and JETS for those who have been out of work for a longer time. Work Coaches at the new St Albans Road Jobcentre are ready to help so come and see what they can do for you."
Watford's MP Dean Russell paid a visit to the new job centre today.
He tweeted: "It was great to attend the opening of Watford's additional Job Centre which will enable the fantastic Work Coaches to offer more face to face appointments in a #COVID secure #environment as they help people move towards #Employment post-pandemic. @DWP #Jobs #watford."
