The piffling nine words of information that came from the Queen’s Speech regarding adult social care is shameful from this current Tory Government.
Years of Tory cuts has seen £8 billion of funding removed from adult social care since 2010. Prime Minister Johnson clearly has forgotten that reform of adult social care was one of his “People’s Priorities”. 18 months after committing his administration to “fix” adult social care nothing has happened.
Actions speak louder than words and, Mr Johnson, words are worthless unless they contain something that is meaningful and of a solid substance.
My message to the Prime Minister is time is now of the essence, adult social care needs urgent attention. You’ve had 18 months to address the critical issues facing adult social care and you have done nothing.
Council tax payers should not be put in the position of having to pay extra council tax to dig adult social care out of a hole, a hole created by successive Tory administrations and cut after cut to adult social care funding.
