Drivers in Watford and Rickmansworth may face disruption to the journeys due to temporary closures for roadworks, starting from this weekend.

A notice from Hertfordshire County Council in this week’s edition of the Watford Observer detail the closures that are scheduled to take place, although the date of the works may change.

A section of Harefield Road, Rickmansworth, is set to be shut to vehicles from Sunday until 5.30pm Tuesday, according to the one.network website.

The closure will be from the junction with the A404 London Road south-westwards for a distance of approximately 220m.

The following day, again until 5.30pm Tuesday, Church Street is set to be shut to vehicles from its junction with the A404 Riverside Drive roundabout to the junction with Norfolk Road, a distance of approximately 277m.

A more significant rtemporary closure in Rickmansworth town centre is planned in High Street/Wensum Way from the junction with Church Street north-westwards and south-westwards to the junction with the A404 Riverside Drive/A412 Rectory Road roundabout, a distance of approximately 1,040m.

This is due to start at 10pm on June 14 and last until 5.30am on June 16, one.network states.

All these closures in Rickmansworth are to allow sewer cleaning works to take place.

Part of Bowmans Green, in Watford, will be closed from Monday due to electrical works.

The road will be shut from its junction with Fairfolds north-westwards for a distance of approximately 62m until next Friday, according to one.network.

A longer closure in York Way, Watford, will also come into effect from Monday for water connection works.

One.network states the closure, which will be between Nos. 184 and 194, will be in place until June 17.

An order has also been made for to shut part of St Johns Road, Watford, from Monday for the removal of tower cranes.

The road is set to be shut from the eastern boundary of No. 34 north-westwards to its junction with St Albans Road, but one.network does not yet state when these works are due to take place.
