Several roads in Watford and the surrounding areas are set to be temporarily closed while roadworks are carried out from next month.

A notice from Hertfordshire County Council in this week’s edition of the Watford Observer states it is intending to make an order to shut the roads in Watford, Rickmansworth, South Oxhey and Kings Langley while the works take place.

The order, if made, will come into force on July 5 and last for up to 18 months, but the restrictions will only apply at times indicated by signs in the relevant locations.

The lengths of road set to be affected are:

Bowmans Green from its junction with Fairfolds north-westwards, south-westwards and south-eastwards for a distance of approximately 160m.

Cherry Tree Road, Watford, from its junction with Foxhill north-eastwards to its junction with Berry Avenue, a distance of approximately 240m.

Forest Road, Watford, from its junction with Haines Way north-westwards, westwards and southwards for a distance of approximately 313m.

Money Hill Road, Rickmansworth, from its junction with West Way south-eastwards for a distance of approximately 75m.

Puttenham Close, South Oxhey, from its junction with Ralston Way south-westwards for its entire length.

Ralston Way, South Oxhey, from its junction with Hayling Road south-eastwards to its junction with Birkdale Gardens, a distance of approximately 111m.

Stud Green, Watford, from its junction with The Brow north-westwards and clockwise for its entire length.

The Avenue, Watford, from its junction with Stratford Road south-eastwards to its junction with Alexandra Road, a distance of approximately 240m.

Stratford Road, Watford, from a point in line with the boundary of No. 53 south-westwards for its entire length.

The Byeway, Rickmansworth, from its junction with Batchworth Hill south-westwards for its entire length.

Toms Lane, Kings Langley, from its junction with High Street south-westwards, north-westwards and south-westwards to its junction with Primrose Hill, a distance of approximately 2355m.

In addition, the county council are proposing to make a separate order to close part of Hunton Bridge Hill, Hunton Bridge, for works.

This is also due to take effect from July 5 and would apply to the road from its junction with Upper Highway south-westwards to its junction with Hamilton Road, a distance of approximately 188m.

All vehicles will also be prohibited from waiting at any time on both sides of this length of road while the works are carried out.
