Roads in Watford, Bushey, Rickmansworth and Croxley Green are among those set to be temporarily closed from as early as next month for roadworks.

A notice from Hertfordshire County Council in this week’s edition of the Watford Observer details the orders it intends to make to permit the closures and the dates they are due to apply from.

All orders are valid for 18 months but the dates when the works will be carried out will be specified on signs near the relevant roads.

The planned closures include the access road leading to Watford High Street Station.

This order is set to take effect from July 16 and will affect the road from a point 60m north-west of its junction with Lower High Street north-westwards for its full length.

Before then an order to temporarily close Kilby Close, Watford, from its junction with the A412 St Albans Road, is set to take effect from July 12, but access to properties “will be maintained whenever possible” while the works take place.

This will also apply during the closure of the road fronting Nos. 83 to 93 Newhouse Crescent, Watford, from its junction with Newhouse Crescent south-westwards and south-eastwards for its entire length. This order is also set to come into force on July 12.

A section of Windmill Drive, Croxley Green, is also set to be shut to motorists in another order set to come into effect from July 12.

This will be from No. 34 south-westwards for a distance of approximately 15m.

The following day an order to close part of Long Lane, Mill End, to vehicles is due to come into force.

This will apply from a point in line with the southern boundary of No. 60 north-westwards for a distance of approximately 24m, except for access.

An order for the temporary closure of a length of Richfield Road, Bushey, is set to take effect from July 14.

This will close the road from a point in line with the western boundary of No. 36 north-eastwards to a point in line with the eastern boundary of No. 40, a distance of approximately 46m, except for access.

Also on July 14, an order to shut part of Berry Lane, Chorleywood, is scheduled to come into place.

This will apply from a point in line with the eastern boundary of ‘Sharpswood’ north-eastwards for a distance of approximately 80m, except for access.

A section of Merry Hill Road, Bushey, is also due to be closed to vehicles while works are carried out.

This order is due to come into force on July 15 and will close the road from a point 90m south-east of its junction with Haydon Dell south-eastwards for a distance of approximately 77m.
