Hello, my name’s Rocco and I’m a handsome 18-month-old Rottweiler cross.

I was brought to the National Animal Welfare Trust as my owners couldn’t handle me anymore, due to my size, strength and lack of manners. So I need an experienced owner who’s had large breeds before and has plenty of time to continue my reward-based training.

I still get excited when I see people, which means I can be noisy and pull or jump about when I’m on the lead.

The staff here are working on my loose lead training and, when there aren’t many distractions and they have tasty treats as rewards, I walk very nicely on a lead.

Watford Observer:

I have loads of potential but need an owner who’ll be the centre of my world and let me be the centre of theirs to bring out the best in me.

I enjoy playing with my toys, especially games of fetch and tug. I love attention and cuddles. I’ll still sit on your lap, even though I’m not a small dog!

I need a big garden to run round in, and an owner who’s home most the day as I get scared when I’m left for too long.

Watford Observer:

I need to be the only pet in the home so I can be the centre of attention. I can live with adults or families with children aged 16 and over.

Contact the NAWT by emailing reception@nawt.org.uk or call 0208 950 0177 (option 2) to meet me.
