There is no getting around it, Italian food is something most British people love. Not many of us will be able to resist a good pizza or a snazzy pasta meal during our lifetimes and there are plenty of restaurants which serve up some fine dishes.

But us Brtis now find ourselves in a bit of a precarious position. England are through to the final of Euro 2020 and are facing none other than Italy in what is set to be an epic clash on Sunday.

So, with there being a ‘conflict of interest’ here, we managed to speak to two Italian restaurants in and around Watford to see what their thoughts are on Italy taking on England and what their predictions are.

The first, L’Artista in Watford town centre, has made it very clear that it will be supporting their beloved Italy on Sunday.

Zazu Kastrati, one of the managers at the restaurant, believes the game is going to be exciting to watch and felt it was great to see both teams in the final.

He said: “For England and Italy to face each other, it is going to be a very great match.

“But if Italy scores, I am going to jump, I am very excited.”

However, Zazu feels the game will be decided on penalties.

Zazu said: “I don’t think there will be any goals and it will be 0-0.

“It will go to penalties, and I think Italy will win it.”

However, whilst L’Artista is firmly in the Italian camp, it is a bit of a mixed bag at another restuaunt, that being Allora Italia in Abbots Langley.

Laura Kozaczynski, a waiter at the restuaunt, said most staff are supporting England for the match, although their chef will be supporting Italy.

“It is a bit of a clash between camps,” she said. “The chef wants Italy to win as he is Italian, but all the rest of us want England to win.”

And unlike L’Artista, Laura thinks England will wrap up the game without the need of going to penalties.

“I think it’s going to be 2-1 England,” she said.
