A man had to be taken to hospital after he was allegedly bitten by a dog whilst sitting outside a pub in Watford town centre.

Hertfordshire Constabulary said a dog was being walked along High Street around 5.20pm on Friday when it reportedly jumped towards a man sitting outside the Moon Under Water pub.

Police say the dog allegedly bit the man on the arm causing injuries.

The man was taken to hospital for further assessment and treatment. 

The dog, believed to be a Cane Corso breed, was seized by officers.

Police are appealing for information and witnesses over the incident.

  • A 22 year old man from Watford was arrested on suspicion of having a dog dangerously out of control causing injury. He has been released while the investigation continues.
